An opportunity exists for a highly skilled
**Project Officer **to join our PF&D Planning team on a 3-year Fixed Term Contract.

Working closely within PF&D as part of the Planning Directorate and with colleagues across the University, you will be responsible for supporting the Campus Planning and Sustainability portfolio, including legislative reporting, carbon management and strategic campus projects. This is a great opportunity for those at the beginning of their sustainability career to gain experience in multiple aspects of sustainable development and carbon management, and who are curious about the strategic decisions and engagement which goes into planning and operating a large precinct. This position would suit those who love teasing out the stories told by data and information, and finding solutions which respond to the unique context of Curtin and operating a university campus.

As a valued member of the Planning Directorate, you will be a part of a supportive team and gain extensive experience in sustainable development. You will work with our talented and experienced team who specialise in Sustainability, Urban Design, Campus Planning, Asset Management, Space Management and Project Management, where you will have the opportunity to collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders and industry consultants. **Key duties and responsibilities include**:

- Ensure legislative and University reporting obligations are met.
- Ensure appropriate systems, tools, processes, functionality and capabilities are in place and meet specified requirements to enable PF&D to build reports and dashboards to meet its performance reporting and data analytics needs.
- Undertake data verification, prototyping and testing of reports, dashboards and outputs from reporting systems and ensuring these are accurately recorded in PF&D’s Integrated Management System.
- Actively promote the University’s profile as an environmentally sustainable university, ensuring strategic alignment.
- Manage and facilitate project communications and liaise with relevant stakeholders to coordinate their input to the project.
- Assist with the development of relevant business case and project initiation documentation (PID) as required, including timelines, implementation and evaluation methods, risk management and communication strategies.
- Coordinate the implementation of project plans and initiatives.
- Track activities and outcomes against project schedules, providing regular and accurate reports to stakeholders as appropriate.
- Provide executive support to project committees, working parties and stakeholder meetings.
- Facilitate the development and implementation of initiatives, processes and systems for effective and efficient administration of projects.
- Undertake project research tasks and compile and analyse data.
- Draft project documentation and prepare project reports.

**Key requirements**:

- Qualifications in Environmental Science, Environmental Management or Sustainability or a combination of relevant experience/education and or training.
- Relevant experience in sustainability projects relating to interior design, urban spaces, research and/or teaching facilities (desirable)
- Considerable project management skills with exceptional time management and organisational abilities.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written with the ability to generate clear and concise reports.
