**Position Information**:
The Ponds High School, located in the suburb of The Ponds in the north-west of Sydney is a 7-12 comprehensive high school that will have 2 300 students in Years 7-12, 2025. Fifty-three per cent of these students come from a non-English speaking background and 0.4% identify as ATSI. The school shares a site with Riverbank Public school and is a part of innovative and energetic community approach to teaching and learning. The school has developed outstanding teaching and learning programs including; a strong welfare approach to student wellbeing, a culturally inclusive program and support for the creative and performing arts. The school has three support classes, a HP&GE class in each year and has an active BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) program using the learning platform Canvas. The Stage 5 and 6 elective structure provides extensive choice for students. Current whole school learning and teaching priorities include; using CANVAS for effective learning and a Teams structure to support SIP priorities including; Assessment, Choice Theory, Literacy, Numeracy, Aboriginal Education, HP&GE, EAL/D etc.

Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,
1.Demonstrated experience leading and evaluating whole school initiatives to facilitate the attainment of school based and system targets.
2 Demonstrated passion and commitment to nurturing and promoting a staff culture of improvement through targeted professional learning.
3. Capacity to effectively monitor and manage system wide compliance processes such as data collection and analysis for reporting in the Annual Report and External Validation (2025).
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
