As a Community Transport Bus Driver, you'll play a crucial role in providing transportation services for older people, including at-risk, vulnerable, and socially isolated residents. Your focus will be on ensuring their safety and well-being, and you'll need a compassionate and empathetic approach.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Provide transportation for the council's Community Connections (Transport) service, focusing on older people, including at-risk, vulnerable, and socially isolated residents.
- Develop flexible schedules to meet client needs.
- Communicate pick-up times to clients/carers promptly.
- Ensure safe boarding and disembarking of passengers.
- Treat all passengers courteously and professionally.
- Document and process passenger concerns following protocols.
- Identify and report clients at risk to the Program Lead Active Ageing Community Connections (Transport).

**About You**:

- Awareness of Bus Safety Legislation for Community Transport.
- Effective communication with older people, people with disabilities, and their carers.
- Knowledge of Home and Community Care (HACC) and the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP).
- Experience in a Community Transport setting (desirable).
- Disabled hoist experience preferred
- Understanding the needs of the senior cohort
- Familiarity with Aged Care Services
- Compassion, empathy, a patient ear, and a sense of humour
- Current Victorian drivers license with a heavy rigid license (essential) and a current Drivers Accreditation Certificate.
- Excellent driving record.
- Understanding of bus mechanical operation.
- Hold or be prepared to attain a Level 2 First Aid Certificate.
