**About the Role**:
To realise our vision, it is essential we provide effective leadership and support to the dairy industry and deliver innovative, well planned and collaborative regional extension and education activities in dairy regions.

Joining our GippsDairy team as a Regional Extension Officer, you will work closely with dairy farmers and regional networks including dairy advisors and service providers ensuring all parties are engaged in the Research, Development and Extension programs and benefiting from the opportunities they deliver and capability that they build. This role will specifically facilitate programs relating to feedbase and nutrition and a discussion group. Examples of the programs that can be delivered under the feedbase program include, Feeding Pastures for Profit, Nutrition Fundamentals, Advanced Nutrition in Action, Top Fodder and Spring Pasture Management Days as well as facilitating the Automatic Milking Systems discussion group for Gippsland.

This role will be offered at.6FTE and will be a fixed term contract until the end of June 2024.

To be successful in the role you will have strong relationship management skills and manage key stakeholder relationships within Dairy Australia and externally. There is an opportunity to strengthen existing relationships but also expand contacts and networks across Gippsland.

Your ability to listen to and learn about current and emerging issues will also be important, with the lens of what programs might support on farm practice or are there emerging issues that need to be monitored and addressed.

You will enjoy organising events and making sure regional delivery is well organised and supported. You will enjoy getting a strong understanding of all the programs Dairy Australia offers but your key knowledge will support feedbase and nutrition.

Ideally you will be degree qualified in agriculture or education & training, or have demonstrated experience in grazing systems, feedbase and nutrition with the ability to link that knowledge to the regions dairy farmer needs. Experience in delivering information and programs to individuals and groups will strongly support you in this role. Just as important is your initiative and enthusiasm for:
