**About the Organisation**

Our Federal Government client is looking for an experienced and creative Software Engineer with excellent security experience to provide expert advice ensuring their security is up to scratch. This is a 6-month daily rate contract that can be based anywhere in Australia, as long as you have a good WIFI connection

**About the Opportunity**

In this role you will be working on an opensource Geoserver platform providing security best practice advice and working with the team throughout implementation. You will have the freedom to come up with your own solutions and work with an experienced team that codes mostly in JavaScript and TypeScript.

**The role**:

- Review our client’s Geoserver Open-Source platform, Cloud Servers and Security Architecture and identify any security risks or threats.
- Create a security strategy and work with a team of experienced developer throughout implementation.
- Provide continuous monitoring and testing for security vulnerabilities in development and infrastructure processes and environments.
- Help develop, maintain, and operate the systems.
- Focus on the security model and implementation across multiple platforms.
- Take responsibility of managing priorities and resources in order to deliver significant software features.
- Make use of appropriate software development tools and processes for coding efficiency and for ensuring software quality, maintainability and reusability.
- Experiment with technologies, evaluate them and present the results.
- Help build our open-source community by answering questions, writing documentation, and presenting at conferences.

**About you**:

- Relevant bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience
- Experience with JavaScript, TypeScript and NodeJS
- Excellent web security experience in OAuth, cloud security, authorisation models or OpenPolicyAgent.
- Familiar with Google Cloud or AWS
