**About the Position**
Newington College has an exciting opportunity for a dedicated General Hand/Gardener to join our Grounds Team at Lindfield Preparatory School. This role will commence from January 2025, on a permanent part-time basis (3 days per week).
The General Hand/Gardener is responsible for supporting the Gardener Leading Hand/Grounds Supervisor and Property Manager to provide quality facilities to the teaching and non-teaching staff, students, parents and Newington community. This role is also assisting the current General Hand.
**About You**
- Trade qualifications (horticulture) or studying and/or relevant gardening work experience
- Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal to liaise with staff
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment and assist in all areas
- Ability to work independently, efficiently follow instructions and adhere to all safety directions
- A ‘can do’ attitude with an initiative to complete tasks to a high standard
- A Work Health & Safety (WHS) green card/white card
- Willingness to do manual handling and heavy lifting
- Chemical handling certificate
- A valid or be willing to obtain a Working with Children Clearance upon commencement.
- An understanding and will adhere to the College’s Child Safeguarding policies and practices.
