**About the branch**
The Workplace Relations and Occupational Safety (WROS) Branch enjoys an extraordinary diversity of exciting and challenging matters. The Occupational Health and Safety practice provides complex advice on current emerging health and safety issues relevant to the Victorian Public Sector and conducts litigation in Victorian Courts and VCAT.

We also work closely with specialists in other branches of the VGSO in areas of law such as information sharing, constitutional and public law, criminal law and administrative decision making.

**About the role**
We are seeking a senior and experienced OHS lawyer to join the VGSO as a Principal Solicitor in our WROS Branch, working closely with a Lead Counsel and Managing Principal Solicitor on occupational health and safety (OHS) matters.

In this role you will provide high quality legal services to Government, efficiently managing a mix of litigation and advisory work and assist in mentoring and supervising junior solicitors.

Along with the ability to develop positive existing client relationships and establish new business opportunities, applicants should also be able to demonstrate sound judgement on complex OHS legal matters based upon significant experience.

Although not essential, an understanding of the structure and culture of government would be beneficial.
