**About the Role**
**Key Duties**
In this role you will be expected to:
- Participate in the design, execution and control of specific research project and coordinate the processing and analysis of data
- Develop new and/or revised research methodologies
- Coordinate conduct of experimental tests and procedures
- Entry of data from publications using a data management package
- Maintain data entry requirements by following data program techniques and procedures
- Collect, format and store data from collaborators.
- Perform basic analyses of both extracted data and data from collaborators.
- Participate in organisational and design aspects of this and other epidemiological studies
- Contribute to education, support and training in epidemiology within the Institute and external organisations.
- Functional and administrative supervision may be exercised over laboratory assistants, graduate students and other assigned research and support personnel.
**Skills and Experience**
You will have:
- Academic knowledge of a health science discipline, such as public health, microbiology, biochemistry, anatomy, pathology, nursing, dental hygiene or medical technology
- Experience in Public health research and or epidemiology.
- Experience in statistical analysis and STATA, or R with sound understanding of statistics.
- A high level of interpersonal skills, to liaise effectively with a wide range of people at a variety of levels internal and external to Baker.
- Well-developed negotiation skills, including ability to negotiate priorities and manage conflicting demands for resources.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills, including the ability to manage a range of tasks with conflicting priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines without compromising close attention to detail and accuracy.
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to take initiative and to improve and enhance existing systems and procedures (quality assurance).
- Demonstrated ability to prepare manuscript, conduct systematic reviews and literature searches.
