As a CAD Coordinator you will be responsible for the management and development of 2D drawing artefacts to support the engineering division in ship design and builds, maintenance of technical documentation systems, design data management and support to Production in build-phase.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Manage and supervise the use of CAD software and hardware tools.
- Manage & maintain CAD standards and standardized templates with symbols, title blocks, borders, and so on, and then making them available to all drafting stations from a central location.
- Adhering to AS, ISO standards, DEFAUST etc.
- Train and guide team members in the use of CAD software.
- Ensure the maintenance and upgrading of CAD systems.
- Resolve any issues or problems that arise with the CAD systems.
- Review CAD based drawings before release.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest CAD software and technology.
- Manage the storage and accessibility of CAD files.
- Manage & maintain Structural, Mechanical & Outfitting Standards.
- Manage & maintain X-Refs.
- Experience with CAD based Application Programming Interface (API).
- Translation to & from other CAD systems, & data formats.
- Understanding software related to CAD, such as databases & VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) programming.
- Writing & maintaining processes & procedures.
- Proactively promoting quality, environmental responsibility & safety within the workplace, encouraging an outcome of Birdon being a place of work by choice.Actively participating in the continued growth of the business.

**Essential**:

- 3+ years of experience operating CAD programs such as AutoCAD. Proficiency in this package is essential.
- Ability to interpret technical documents, technical manuals, and drawings.
- Ability to manage data related to project documentation beyond drawings using Microsoft Excel.

**Desirable**:

- Experience in developing such drawings for marine structures or vessels.
- Knowledge of marine engineering and design principles, systems, techniques, and industry standards.Understanding of Defence and government project documentation standards.
