Our Engineering Construction division provides large-scale multidisciplinary project management and construction services, whilst our Maintenance & Industrial Services division specialises in the planning, management and execution of maintenance, shutdowns and sustaining capital works. The MHL team supports both these divisions and external customers directly, and our team of in-house specialists bring a wealth of global experience to every lifting solution, whether it is a stand-alone lifting job or a fully integrated multi-disciplinary work package.As Engineering Manager Based in our Perth Head Office within Monadelphous Heavy Lift (MHL), you will lead our specialised engineering team to support Heavy Lift and Haul work scopes across multiple projects in resources and energy.
Reporting to our Technical Services Manager (MHL), the Engineering Manager is pivotal role supporting tender and operational teams, driving our approach to modularisation and constructability, guaranteeing Monadelphous clients benefit through the delivery of our world class solutions. It goes without saying that this role will require someone with a level of confidence developed through experience to evaluate and present innovative engineering solutions and alternative thinking.Key Responsibilities;
- Lead a team of engineers responsible for technical evaluation of project information at different stages from design, tender through to project execution.
- Provide technical support to proposals, studies, FEED’s and EPC scopes of work, engaging with the customer and inhouse multi-disciplined project teams to identify the best methodologies to safely deliver cost effective solutions for our clients.
- Specialist support into development of modularisation and constructability strategies, design basis and field execution on large scale projects.
- Implementing and executing heavy lift strategies, developing work practices and Constructability into projects.
- Recruit, develop, upskill and grow the in-house heavy lift engineering team including drafts people, graduate engineers and experienced heavy lift engineers.
- Promoting our engineering capability internally to the Monadelphous business.
- Lead the development of procedures for Lift/Shift operations and specialised equipment.
- Ensure compliance through design and fabrication process for specialised lifting equipment.
- Manage engineering deliverables (across multiple countries) to meet project schedules.
- Develop and manage relationships with stakeholders and customers, both internal and external.

What you will bring;
- 10+ years’ experience in the Heavy Lift Industry
- International major project experience within the heavy lift and haulage industry
- Experience working within large multi-disciplinary projects.
- International major construction project experience
- Exposure to new technologies and techniques
- Engineering qualification, degree level in Aeronautical, Mechanical/Structural Engineering
- Experience with AutoCAD, Lift Planning Software and Finite Element Analysis
