Marine Aquarist

We are a fast paced business dealing with retail, domestic, and wholesale sales of marine ornamental species. We are looking for a new marine aquarist to join our coral team, and to assist with packing’s and retail sales. This position is directly responsible to our store manager.

Main duties include but are not limited to:

- Maintaining ideal water parameters for corals and fish
- Maintenance of perfect water quality parameters for coral health and growth.
- Checks and system maintenance including health, water changes, water flow, lighting, coral placement, and filtration servicing.
- Frag, sort, and prepare corals for sale.
- Retail sales and customer service, including phone calls.
- Participating in wholesale, retail, and export packing’s.
- Assisting in other areas when needed, such as unpacking of livestock, shop cleanliness, and other jobs as directed by the store manager.
- Overall husbandry of corals, fish and invertebrates.

Essential Criteria:

- Customer service experience
- High attention to detail
- Ability to work efficiently, whether in a team or independently.
- Driver License
- Marine aquarium knowledge.

Desirable Criteria:

- Experience in Reef aquarium keeping, specifically corals.
- TAFE certificate, diploma, or degree in a Marine Science or Aquaculture field.
- Physically fit
- First Aid Certificate
- Driver License

Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 - 38 per week
