**Role**:
To provide significant leadership in conjunction with the Sub-school team to develop a consistent, supportive student engagement and wellbeing and to build a sub-school culture and sense of identity amongst the students that enhances a sense of belonging and connectedness with school. The role also focuses on the establishment of a supportive, challenging learning environment which is relevant and engaging, and which meets the specific needs of the student cohort.

**Responsibilities**:

- To lead and develop a positive Sub School culture that fosters student empowerment, increased responsibility and independence in terms of their learning, and which reflects the Strategic Plan goals and priorities.
- Leading and managing the implementation of whole College improvement initiatives related to the Strategic Plan, Annual Implementation Plan and College priorities.
- Lead and manage the Sub-school Team that facilitates development of a collaborative culture of year level leadership including mentoring of Year Level Coordinators in consistent student engagement and wellbeing approaches, including restorative approach to behaviour management. To co-develop a wellbeing and discipline structure that is based on consistent, fair and reasonable consequences for inappropriate behaviour and positive reinforcement for co-operative responsible behaviour.
- To develop co-operative and collegially supportive working relationships with all teachers within the year level and sub-school and to provide, with the team, a high level of support in providing a consistent, supportive learning environment, including the oversight of student learning (including learning plans), personal wellbeing and behaviour management plans.
- Co-develop and lead a tiered model for wellbeing supports and programs that are developmentally, socially and appropriate to support the needs of the Year Level; and fostering a team approach through the Home Group / Mentor teachers.
- To oversee and manage the homegroup program, role of the homegroup teacher and to lead meetings
- To liaise with the Student Wellbeing Co-ordinator and Inclusion Team in regard to all student wellbeing and learning needs in the sub-school, including communication with key stakeholders (staff, teachers, parents and support services).
- Lead the Sub Schools Committee around the leadership and management of students across the College.
- To consult and liaise effectively with the Principal Team and Student Wellbeing Co-ordinator on engagement and disengagement strategies that supports student placement in the most appropriate educational setting, such as Teaching Units and alternate educational settings and/or pathways.
- To contribute to the overall leadership and management of the College, including membership of the College Strategic Planning Team, leadership of Sub-school meetings with Principal Class, homegroup teachers meetings and year level leaders.
- Lead and manage staff Performance and Development (review of staff).
