As our Area
**Leading Hand**, you will be providing direct leadership and will be running the shop floor production area on a day-to-day basis.

You will be our front-line leader, managing labor resources to produce a quality product in a safe, productive, and cost-effective manner that achieves the production schedule and on-time delivery.

**In this role, you will also**:

- Report production, performance, and any potential issues to the supervisor including consumable level and any other deficiencies.
- Ensure any timesheets are accurately completed by all personnel daily and are submitted
- Implement standardized work practices within the area of control & assist with updating work instructions
- Be actively involved in improvement initiatives, communicate feedback on or assist with implementing continuous improvement activities to maximize efficiency, output, safety, and sustainability
- Ensure administration documents are completed for the workgroup and maintain learning and mandatory training records as required
- Ensure management is promptly made aware of the production, work area, or personnel issues which may be potentially contentious (e.g. significant pay problems, serious safety issues raised)

Overall, in this excellent opportunity, you will play a significant role in developing and promoting the multiskilling of team members in your workgroup to enhance their competence levels across each task.

**Criteria to be successful in this role**:

- Certificate III Engineering or Manufacturing Processes will be highly regarded
- Certificate IV Frontline Management
- desirable
- Forklift license
- essential
- Previous related leadership experience within an engineering/manufacturing workshop
- Evidence of having performed welding/grinding/drilling/press operations

**This role is based at our Bassendean site.**
