**About Public Fertility Services**

The Women’s Public Fertility Service (PFS) is Australia’s first fully public fertility service designed to provide comprehensive person-centred fertility care to eligible patients. We offer high-quality, value-based care that is inclusive and culturally safe and improves access to fertility services for those who are currently under-serviced by the private sector. This includes single people, Aboriginal Victorians, LGBTIQ+ Victorians, people with a disability, people from culturally and linguistically diverse communities, people from regional/rural communities and people living on low incomes.

**About the role**

As a Fertility Counsellor you will provide counselling to individuals and couples who are undertaking fertility treatment at the Women’s. Counselling services will include pre-treatment counselling for diverse forms of assisted reproductive treatments, supportive and therapeutic counselling during and after treatment, assistance with fertility and reproductive treatment decision making, stress management, relationship counselling and grief and loss counselling.

A regular day will see you:

- ?Provide face-to-face and telehealth counselling to patients for pre-treatment Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) counselling
- Help patients manage the psycho-social challenges that can accompany ART
- Provide information, support and advice regarding donor and surrogacy treatment programs
- Provide information and support for patients undergoing medical fertility preservation
- Deliver counselling that recognises social determinants of culture, gender and social diversity that affect people's fertility and fertility choices

**About you**

You will be someone with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build strong, collaborative working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.

You’ll bring with you:

- ??Current full membership of the Australian and New Zealand Infertility Counsellors Association (ANZICA)
- Registration as a Psychologist with AHPRA without restrictions, OR a member of (or eligible for) the Australian Association of Social Workers
- Minimum 5 years’ experience working on behalf of a licensed ART clinic, as a fertility counsellor providing pre-treatment implications counselling, supportive and therapeutic ART counselling
- Clinical knowledge and skills around reproductive health, reproductive loss, and fertility related trauma issues
- A working knowledge of RTAC Code of Practice and other ART and fertility counselling legislations and guidelines
