**About the role**:
The Team Leader Role is a highly challenging role, and we are seeking applicants who can demonstrate a varied skill set with an ability to work in a dynamic environment that is highly driven by legislation compliance. As a Team Leader you will provide administrative oversight for compliance with relevant legislation relating to the Vehicle Impoundment System (VIS) for motor vehicles impounded or immobilised pursuant to Part 6A of the Road Safety Act 1986.
The ideal suitable applicant would have a demonstrated experience working within a diverse workforce, proficient office management skills and ability to lead by example. They will need to be highly motivated, displaying workplace resilience and have strong interpersonal skills. The role also requires a customer centric, collaborative, and innovative approach to working with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.

**Your duties will include**:

- Provide motivation, mentoring, performance management and the coordination of training activities to team members,
- Identify opportunities to develop the business through continuous improvement methodologies,
- Develop as part of a leadership group, and champion the values and changes needed in a highly diverse environment,
- Assign and monitor workloads to team members to ensure delivery of services,
- Conduct audits for various aspects of the unit and provide input towards resolution of any identified issues which could have an impact on the Vehicle Impoundment Program or running of the unit,
- Provide sound advice, support and advocate to senior management and staff on a range of issues.
- Actively contributing to continuous improvement, workplace safety and staff well-being activities.

**As the successful applicant, you will have**:

- Experience in the management of a diverse skills team,
- Strong Communication skills (written and oral),
- Excellent Time Management ability, and
- Proficient office management skills and approach.
- Ability to address inappropriate workplace behaviours through proactive early intervention and resolution management.

**Requirements and relevant information**:

- One (1) x full-time, fixed term position available (01/07/2023 - 30/06/2026).
- This position is located at Vehicle Impoundment Support Unit, Raglan St Preston.
- Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
