**About Your Role**:
This role is based in Nowra, South Coast NSW, Australia and will train future Royal Australian Navy (RAN) Aircrew, specifically, Aviation Warfare Officers (AvWO), and assist in training Navy Pilot, Remote Pilot Warfare Officers (RPWO) and Sensor Operator (SENSO) students in the fundamentals of Mission Sensors & Systems and Aviation Warfare.

You will need to be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) with significant knowledge in Mission Systems, Navigation, Naval Recognition, Search and Rescue (SAR) and Tactical procedures. Training will take place in a combination of classroom, group-based mission trainers and simulated tactical airborne environments.

**This role is ground based training only with No flying commitment or medicals.**

**Duties & Responsibilities**:
The position will involve direct engagement with students, Boeing Defence Australia (BDA), Navy and Army Instructors, as well as other administration staff within the training school.
- Providing classroom-based instruction using computer, interactive white boards, and video projector systems.
- Conducting Synthetic Training based instruction across key Aviation warfare skills, including; mission pre-flight brief, mission execution, post-flight debrief and assessments.
- Reviewing curricula, provide recommendations for improvements and updates, including but not limited to: instructor guides, student guides, synthetic simulation scenarios and training reference materials under the guidelines of current training directives.

**Essential Qualifications and Skills**:

- You will be a Qualified Aviation Warfare Officer (AvWO)/Observer/ U.S. Navy Airborne Tactical Officer (ATO) / Maritime Patrol Response Officer (MPRO) instructor or equivalent
- Contemporary knowledge and recent exposure within Naval Maritime platforms to instruct fundamental Mission Sensor & Systems, Navigation, SAR, Tactical communication / procedures and Naval Recognition techniques
- Previous Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) and Anti-Surface Warfare (ASuW) experience

**Highly Desirable Qualifications and Skills**:

- Vocational experience as a military flying training instructor on Naval rotary wing platforms
- ASW dipping sonar experience
- Demonstrated experience in at least one major naval surface unit as embarked aircrew for an overseas military deployment
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE 40116) or equivalent
- Security Clearance, currently held or attainable
