We are looking for a suitably qualified **Arborist **to join the team. You will provide specialist assessment, tree maintenance works and advice on individual trees and tree management in urban environments, including risk assessment, species selection and site planning. Working with allied professionals such as Urban and Regional Planners, Landscape Architects, and contractors.

The Arbor crew are a part of the Urban Services Team and will assist other Works department staff to undertake varied work in a safe and effective manner in accordance with Council policies, procedures, industry standards and Legislation.

**The successful applicant will have**:

- Current Medium Rigid Truck “MR” Class license (or ability to obtain within 6 months of commencement)
- White Card
- Traffic Management accreditation (RIIWHS205E Control traffic with a stop-slow bat, and RIIWHS302E Implement traffic managements plans)
- Chainsaw accreditation
- TasNetworks - Working safely near live electrical apparatus as a non-electrical worker
- Current Elevated Work Platform (EWP) accreditation
- Current experience in using small plant and equipment, including but not exclusive to chainsaws, pole saws, chippers, rotary hoes, brush cutters etc.
- An ability to work well within a team environment and to adapt to a changing environment.
- A well-developed understanding and knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety.
- Physically fit and proven ability to work in all weather conditions.

**Qualifications required**:

- Certificate III Arboriculture with a minimum of 5 years recent post trade experience, in all aspects of ground, climbing and EWP based arboricultural practices with a focus on pruning and removal of trees.

**Position Hours**:Full-Time, 76 hours fortnight.

**Salary range**:$60,264.80 to $63,380.92 plus superannuation
