Junior Events/function Coordinator

Postmaster Hotel offers function facilities, with two newly renovated and versatile event spaces on offer. Offering great dining experiences and we are always looking for new and innovative ways to deliver food and beverages that excite our team and delight our guests. You will be expected to:
1. Work closely with the floor managers to host all functions
- Act as the customer liaison to hosts on the event days
- Execute events according to event order from start to finish
- Be part of the floor team to service customers in food and beverage
2. Liaise and work closely with the Events Manager to organise and manage restaurant reservations, large groups and event enquiries
- Manage communication between guests, kitchen and clients
- Organisation and coordination of special calendar events (Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day)
3. Act as the initial point of contact for queries and requests
- Show potential clients the event space to discuss potential events and/or partnerships
- Act as client liaison to coordinate before, during and at the completion of events
4. Provide a clear and accurate daily, weekly, monthly service and event reports when required
- This includes creating and finalising event schedules for the FOH and BOH team for upcoming functions and events
5. General office duties, including but not limited to:
- answering the phone
- menu changes
- function package edits
- administration tasks
6. Undertake further training and career progression _if applicable_, commencement of the Certificate 3 in Hospitality (this will lead to the Certificate 4 in Hospitality)
- Formal training provided with William Angliss
- Attend workbook sessions with trainer from William Angliss as required
- Be competent on food and beverage service as well as food & beverage knowledge
- Further training and development of skills supported
Skills and experience:
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Be able to work well under pressure
- Be self-motivated and have excellent organisational skills
- Be presentable and have good communication skills
- Be able to work both within a team and independently
- Enjoy training, motivating and developing team members
- Advanced computer knowledge (Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel)
- Create a positive and productive work environment and delivering superior guest service and compliance with quality and operational standards
Pay rate negotiable based on experience.

Expected hours: 30 - 40 per week
