An exciting opportunity exists for an Asset and Facilities Support Officer (AFSO) Grade 3/4 to work in the NSW SES State Warehouse located at Coniston. The role is a Full-Time temporary position until 30 June 2024, with the possibility of extension or ongoing.

**About the opportunity**

NSW SES is undertaking a major program of fleet asset replacement, including vehicles, vessels, and trailers over the coming years. The AFSO is a member of the Fleet Replacement Program team, responsible to ensure the timely movement of goods through the warehouse, to support contracted build and delivery to SES units of new vehicles, vessels, and trailers.

The main responsibilities of the role include:

- Ensuring correct disposal of old assets and associated surplus / obsolete equipment.
- The AFSO position is responsible to ensure new and returned items are correctly identified according to NSW SES asset management procedures and to track these items in the SAP inventory management system.
- Timely movement of vehicles, vessels, and trailers in SAP Management Systems as they leave and arrive at warehouse.
- Picking and packing equipment/inventory orders as well as communication to internal/external stakeholders of delivery expectation.

As well as being a member of the Fleet Replacement Team, the AFSO position will work as part of the NSW SES State Warehouse team on a daily basis, providing mutual support and assistance as may be required to meet our organisational priorities. A forklift operator’s license is a mandatory requirement to work in the NSW SES warehouse environment.

The NSW State Emergency Service (NSW SES) is an emergency and rescue service made up almost entirely of volunteers and supported by a small staff contingent. NSW SES is a key influencer of other emergency service agencies and works closely with these partners to modernise and grow volunteering to save lives and protect communities

While major responsibilities are for flood, storm operations and tsunamis, the NSW SES also provides the majority of general rescue effort in the rural parts of the state. This includes road accident rescue, vertical rescue, bush search and rescue, evidence searches (both metropolitan and rural), other forms of specialist rescue that may be required due to local threats, Urban Search and Rescue and Community First Response.

**About you**

To be successful in this role you will:

- Be a self-starter who can work diligently and without close supervision.
- Be organised, proactive and accountable and thrive in a complex and fast-paced environment.
- Be a highly motivated individual with excellent organisational skills with the ability to remain calm and focused on challenging situations.
- Have experience working in a large store or warehouse environment and be familiar with conventional warehouse inventory tracking systems and procedures,
- Be a fast learner with good attention to detail,
- Hold a current forklift operator’s license.
- Hold a current Driver’s license.
- A current truck licence would be desirable.
- Experience using SAP is preferred but is not essential.
