**About the role**:
A fantastic opportunity to join Box Hill Institute at our City Campus as the Visual Arts Technician This opportunity is part time.5 FTE until December 2024.
The Visual Art Technician provides technical and logístical support to CAE Short Courses. This support includes:
- establish and maintain a current stock inventory for all course materials
- ensure all tools and equipment are in a state of readiness for use by employees and students, including session set up and close down
- support the teaching and business support employees in their roles through the provision of technical assistance.
The Visual Arts Technician is a position in the Design area of the Faculty of Creative Industries & ICT. The Technician is responsible for the warehousing, monitoring and maintenance of consumables and minor equipment, and provision of technical support to the above teaching areas. They will liaise with managers, coordinators, teachers and students from these units; suppliers; community groups; art galleries; and employees of BHI at all levels.
The Faculty of Creative Industries and ICT provides a wide range of teaching and learning programs at local, interstate and international campuses. The Faculty delivers nationally recognised training in courses ranging from Certificates to Diplomas and postgraduate programs. Discipline areas include Land Sciences, Culinary Arts, Travel, Tourism & Events, Music, Design, Hair & Beauty and Cyber Technology.
Our courses provide pathways into further education and employment, and help to increase life and employability skills. Full-time, part-time, on-campus, blended, work-based and online delivery options exist to suit the needs of our students and industry partners.
- Salary for this role is Pro Rata PACCT 4 $62,687.00 per annum (exclusive of superannuation)._
**About You**:
- Relevant technical qualification to AQF level 4 or relevant experience in providing technical support to arts programs
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) is desirable
- A Level 2 First Aid qualification or a willingness to undertake this training
- Demonstrated experience in warehousing, equipment and facility maintenance, particularly in an education setting
- Possesses current and sound knowledge of the various Arts, Lifestyles and Professional Development programs to inform the technological knowledge required
- Demonstrated ability to provide regular and comprehensive asset and stock control and reporting, including equipment maintenance reporting
- Ability to support the set-up, conduct and close down of teaching sessions
- Proven aptitude to establish and maintain useful relationships with people at all levels across business areas, functions and organisations
- Cooperates and works well with others in pursuit of common team goals
- Strong organisational and resource management skills
