**About the role**
In this role you will lead a small team to implement Council’s tree maintenance program in a safe, efficient and professional manner. The position will perform best practice tree maintenance works to maintain Council’s tree assets in a safe and aesthetically pleasing condition.

Key responsibilities include:

- Coordinate the daily duties of a tree maintenance team to provide a professional and customer focused service.
- Assess trees to identify defects and perform remedial works where required.
- Undertake tree maintenance activities including tree pruning, tree removals and root pruning in accordance with Council’s policies and procedures and Australian Standards.
- Operate and maintain plant and equipment including trucks, chippers, travel towers, and general arboricultural equipment in an effective manner, in compliance with Council standards, appropriate laws, OH&S regulations and Australian Standards.
- Accurate completion of documentation as required and competent use of Maintenance Management System.

**About you**
To be successful in this role, you will have:

- A Cert III in Arboriculture is required.
- Experience in tree maintenance operations.
- Experience in providing leadership to a small crew.
- Experience in operating and maintaining plant and equipment including trucks, chippers, travel towers and general arboricultural equipment.
- Ability to assess trees to identify defects and recommend appropriate remedial works
