**ABOUT THE POSITION**

The primary function of the Configuration Coordinator is to create and program Bill of Material selection logic to ensure correct supply, delivery, and fitment of components. Review downstream product release feedback logs related to the configurator output reports to examine and correct errors in the rule database.

Reporting to Engineering Operations Supervisor

**Responsibilities**
- Program and update selection logic for new and revised Bill of Materials received through product change release documents.
- Review and delete obsolete BOM rules and sales codes from defined segments.
- Review errors logged against configurator selection logic by the product release group and update rule base as required.
- Provide configurator support for issues relating to the configuration reports including validating BOM counts, and group selections as required.
- Nominate unpublished options for library sales code assignment to allow for configuration.
- Complete continuous improvement projects to improve configurator accuracy and reduce error rate.
- Analyse production changes resulting from incorrect selection and determine root cause and actions for improvement.
- Maintain and update configurator documentation.

- Ability to fault and trace errors within complex selection rule statements.
- Ability to quickly, and effectively produce root cause investigation and determine corrective action.
- Initiate continuous improvement projects within the scope of current software systems.
- Liaise with multiple sections to clarify and ensure accurate BOM configurations.

**Knowledge / Capabilities / Qualifications**
- Strong MS Office experience.
- Experience with coding/scripting language, preferably with knowledge and implementation of VBA across the office suite.
- Proficient at Boolean logic implementation, understand IF, AND, OR and NOT logic statements and their implementation.
- Minimum TAFE education in Business, Engineering, or IT (Business Information Systems, IT, Data Analysis).

**Key Performance Indicators**
- Achieves departmental goals and targets set by the Engineering Operations Manager and immediate Supervisor.
- Achieves goals and targets set by the Chief of Engineering
- Improved BOM configuration call-up and accuracy rates
- Ensure daily processing and timely configuration of revised and new Bill of Material releases.
- Maintain configurator error logs to in-line with specified target.
- Reduction in production error rates resulting from misconfigurations through root-cause analysis.
