**About Us**

Georges River Council owns and operates six children’s services across our LGA located at Beverley Hills, Carss Park, Kogarah, Penshurst, South Hurstville, and Oatley West. Council’s Children’s Services educate and care for approximately 400 children with enrolments continuing to grow. We have a team who have been recognised for excellence in Environmental Programming and we are proud of our Reconciliation Action Plan which is developed in consultation with Aboriginal staff and community members.

Our educators take pride in their Early Childhood Education profession. We adhere to the guidelines, practices and regulations surrounding the National Quality Standards (NQS) and regularly review Quality Improvement Plans. **About the Opportunity**
- One (1) Permanent, Part-Time position - 60 hours per fortnight based at South Hurstville Kindergarten
- Part time salary from $47,612.57 - $54,705.79 annum plus 10.5% superannuation (full time equivalent salary is from $55,548.46 - $64,359.76 per annum)
- Monday - Friday working 9.00 am - 3.30 am.

**About You**

You will be active, engaged, be part of a team which provides high quality early childhood education and care to the community. You will also be responsible for:

- providing a friendly, secure, and stimulating learning environment for all children attending the Centre, and to assist in the planning and implementation of programmes which meet the developmental, cultural and special needs of children in care.
- providing support to and ensure regular communication with parents of children in care.

**S**election Criteria**:
Qualifications, Certificates & Licences
- Certificate III in Children’s Services
- Current First Aid Certificate, Anaphylaxis and Asthma Management Certificates, with at least 6 months until expiry
- Approved current Working with Children Check, with at least 6 months until expiry
- NSW Department of Education and Communities approved Child Protection Training Certificate

Essential
- Previous experience working with children 0-5 years of age, in a Childcare Centre setting.
- Sound oral communication skills and ability to relate well to children, parents, staff, volunteers and the community.
- Ability to work as a member of a team, and to provide role-modelling as appropriate.
- Understanding of Work Health and Safety requirements.
- Demonstrated ability or willingness to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Must be fully vaccinated (minimum 2 doses) with an approved COVID-19 vaccine and provide Council with evidence of vaccination, or an accepted certified medical contraindication. Council reserves the right to confirm the validity of contraindications in accordance with NSW Health guidelines, and to direct a Worker to undertake an independent medical examination in relation to the issuance of a medical contraindication certificate.
