**Purpose of the Role**

The Student Activity Coordinator’s key purpose is to co-ordinate and maintain rich and diverse
Co-curricular opportunities beyond the classroom.

**Co-curricular**

ELTHAM College aims to offer students opportunities beyond the traditional academic domain,
with exceptional visual and performing arts, sport, technology, hospitality, outdoor education,
international exchange and intercultural connection programs that challenge and inspire.

The position will work with key stakeholders to establish a College wide Student Activity policy
and programs to reflect the College’s aim to grow the hearts and minds of our community.

The role requires someone with acute attention to detail and effective planning skills, a
capacity to lead through others, influence and negotiate to achieve desired outcomes.

**We are seeking a Student Activity Coordinator who demonstrates
- An ability to support and help facilitate Co-curricular programs including; College

Productions, Co-curricular Music Programs, Debating, Tournament of the Minds, F1 in
Schools, Public Speaking, Co-curricular Clubs etc
- A strong understanding of the role that co-curricular programs/opportunities play

within a school environment
- The ability to engage and inspire multiple constituencies and build authentic

relationships
- A capacity to cultivate and maintain highly collaborative working relationships with

College Staff, the broader College community including families and alumni and the
wider local community.
- A commitment to lifelong learning and will embrace the College's ethos, vision and

values.

**Major Duties**

In conjunction with the Deputy Principal, the College Executive and other identified
stakeholders the Student Activity Coordinator will:

- Maintain a Student Activity Policy, associated procedures and a P - 12 Activities

Handbook(s).
- Monitor the various Student Activity programs offered by the College and provide

support to maximise the outcomes for students.
- Actively promote the Students Activity Program to the wider College community

through key communications channels including the College Newsletter and College
social media platforms.
- Manage the Student Activities Budget, and the Director of Business Operations and

ensure the maintenance of accurate participation data.
- Maintain an annual calendar of co-curricular activities, with associated planning and

promotion including the production of termly activity timetabling.
- Work with Head of Senior and Junior School to allocate staff to co-curricular

activities and the provision of role descriptions and/or requirements for
specific activities.
- Assist with, and where appropriate, present at information nights for programs

outlined above.
- Prepare for and run the Co-curricular Expo for students in week 1 of each school year.
- Manage the Co-curricular ME page by regularly updating student lists, timetable

changes and staff involvement on mE and Synergetic.

**Knowledge/Experience Required for this Position**
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to manage conflicting and changing priorities
- Demonstrated ability to lead through other’s influence and negotiate to achieve
- desired outcomes- Experience with maintaining records and processes
- Relevant experience with co-curricular programs or similar (preferable)
