Reporting to the Head of Development, the Partnerships Specialist is a member of the Development & Communications Department team.- This role is formally based in South Melbourne. We support our staff to work flexibly, both in location and hours, based on the premise that work will remain the focus of any arrangement. How and where you work is discussed with each staff member based on individual circumstances, role requirements and accountability for delivery of high-quality work.- The Partnerships Specialist develops and maintains relationships with current and prospective business and corporate partners, and provides high-level support for partnership activations, due diligence, prospect research, and contract management. The role is also responsible for workplace giving and will work closely with our Fundraising Team to deliver an exceptional partnership experience for our Buddy Bag and corporate volunteers.**Major job responsibilities**
- Work closely with the Head of Development to maintain an annual partnership pipeline to ensure a planned, strategic approach to account management and income growth in line with annually agreed targets, objectives, and activities.
- Account manage assigned business and community partners with established acquisition, growth and retention goals and initiate networking, cultivation and stewardship opportunities.
- Undertake stewardship and relationship management activities, providing an exceptional partnership experience and achieve financial and non-financial KPIs.
- Undertake Due Diligence and background research into prospective Corporate Partners, Major Donors, Philanthropic Trusts and other stakeholders and compile and record detailed information as requested on behalf of the Director, Head of Development, and Philanthropy Manager.
- Assist the Director, Head of Development, and Philanthropy Manager to prepare pitches, partner/donor updates and reports, invoices and receipts, helping to ensure that all contractual obligations are met.
- Build and maintain a Workplace Giving program including liaising with partners, updating portals and delivering supporter communications to improve the supporter experience and retain long-term partnerships.
- Work closely with the Fundraising team to coordinate the Corporate/Skilled volunteering program, liaising with volunteers and supporting other departments with their volunteer requirements.
- Keep the CRM and relationship management systems up to date with all supporter interactions including recording, tracking, and reporting on donor activity and information.
- Contributing positively to the Foundation’s culture of We are stronger together through developing and maintaining collaborative relationships with colleagues.
- Other tasks as directed by the Director, Development & Communications, CEO and Executive Team, and occasionally undertake some out-of-hours work for key events as required.

**Knowledge, experience & requirements**
- 3-5 years of experience in a partnerships, account management or stewardship role, preferably in not-for-profit sector.
- Solid understanding of corporate, philanthropic and government relationship development techniques.
- Excellent relationship building skills, communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to develop strong relationships with external and internal stakeholders.
- Strong project or campaigns management skills, problem solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously using effective time management and prioritisation skills, while also working autonomously on clearly defined projects, and in a small team.
- Knowledge of CRM database systems, preferably Raiser’s Edge.
