The Investment Funding Unit (IFU) is located in Portfolio Investment and Programming Branch within the Strategic Investment and Asset Management section. The IFU identifies high-priority transport and road investment needs for funding consideration of the Australian and Queensland Governments and is responsible for leading the development of road network investment strategies and funding submissions that contribute to a more productive, sustainable and liveable Queensland.

The IFU manages three capital road investment programs, including determination of long-term investment priorities for the Bruce Highway, National Land Transport Network and State Road Network Upgrades, which form a significant part of the Queensland Transport and Roads Investment Program (QTRIP). In the role of Principal Advisor (Network Investment), you will be part of a dedicated team of people making decisions now that will shape the transport system in Queensland for years to come by:

- managing governance of the Bruce Highway Upgrades Investment Program and other capital road investment programs to inform the annual QTRIP publication process and guide future investment decisions;
- providing advice to senior and executive management on transport and road infrastructure issues to inform investment direction and decisions;
- developing road network and corridor investment strategies and transport and road infrastructure funding submissions, underpinned by sound strategic analysis and advice; and
- implementing program management practices and promoting business improvement opportunities for the Bruce Highway Upgrades Investment Program consistent with other capital road investment programs managed within IFU.

**Accountabilities include but are not limited to**:

- coordinate and develop federal and state funding submissions for transport and road infrastructure priorities, as well as provide strategic analysis and advice that informs investment program development
- coordinate and prepare stage one Infrastructure Australia submissions - focussing on nationally-significant transport challenges and solutions that support Australia's productivity, unlock new economic and social opportunities and contribute to nation building for generations to come
- lead research into emerging opportunities and challenges for transport infrastructure provision to determine implications for Queensland's diverse transport and road networks and provide high-level advice to senior executives
- coordinate, prepare and review correspondence and briefing notes related to transport investment for consideration of responsible Minister/s, the Director-General, and other senior executives
