An exciting opportunity is now available for Assistants in Nursing to join the team on B3 East at Wollongong Hospital. Permanent Full Time and Permanent Part Time positions are available.

**What you'll be doing**

Assistants in nursing work within a plan of care under the supervision and direction of the Registered Nurse and within the limits of the Assistant in Nursing position description Assistants in Nursing retain responsibility for their own actions and remain accountable to the Registered Nurse for all allocated functions Assistants in Nursing practice in accordance with NSW Health guidelines, the position description and local policy and protocol.

**Where you'll be working**
Wollongong Hospital is the Illawarra and Shoalhaven’s major referral and teaching hospital and has bed base of more than 500. The campus, which incorporates the Illawarra Regional Cancer Care Centre, provides a comprehensive range of inpatient, outpatient and community-based services.

Wollongong is located an hours drive south of Sydney on a narrow coastal strip bordered by the Royal National Park to the north, Lake Illawarra to the south, the Tasman Sea to the east and the Illawarra Escarpment to the west. **Talent Pool**

This role is a **Category A **role. Preferred applicants will be reviewed for compliance and required to maintain compliance with the screening, assessment and vaccination requirements, relevant to your position, as outlined in NSW Health policy directive on Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination against Specified Infectious Diseases.

For positions designated as child-related employment, or positions that may result in proximity to children, you will be required to obtain a Working with Children clearance number from the Office of the Children’s Guardian.

Please note that a volunteer WWCC (which is free) cannot be used for paid employment.
