**About Role**

Our business is looking for a Kitchen Assistant to assist our team with the preparation of food and dishes. You will be responsible for cleaning, washing, organising the stockroom and emptying rubbish bins. The ideal individual for the Kitchen Assistant role will have the ability to stand for long shifts, work as part of a team, and precisely follow health and hygiene practises. You will need excellent communication skills, a passion for exceeding customer expectations, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

**Duties & Responsibilities of the role**

Properly cleaning and sanitizing all food preparation areas according to established standards of hygiene
Washing and appropriately storing all cooking appliances, instruments, utensils, cutting boards, and dishes
Assisting the chef with the preparation of meal ingredients, which includes washing, cleaning, peeling, cutting, and chopping fruit, vegetables, poultry, and meat
Sweeping and mopping the kitchen floors as well as wiping down kitchen walls
Assisting with the unloading of delivered food supplies
Organizing and correctly storing food supplies
Promptly transferring meal ingredients from storage areas to the kitchen as per the chef's instructions
Perform ad-hoc tasks on a need basis

**Requirements for the role**

High school diploma or GED
Proven experience assisting in kitchens
Ability to work under pressure and as part of a team
Excellent verbal communication skills
Time management and organisational skills

Sound knowledge of food safety regulations

**About Pay**
Pay is based off hourly rate i.e. $20-$22 per hour.

**Salary**: From $21.70 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Morning shift
- No weekends

Work Authorisation:

- Australia (preferred)

Ability to Commute:

- Tuggerah, NSW 2259 (preferred)

Work Location: In person
