**About the role**

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated School Officer - Industrial Technologies and Design (ITD and Visual Arts Technician) to join our college community. The role holder is a member of the Curriculum Team working to provide support to the teaching staff in the Technologies department, specifically visual art and ITD.

**It is essential that the role holder**:

- Has a deep interest in manual and visual arts
- Acts with integrity, initiative and sound judgement to provide effective support
- Can work under limited supervision and broad guidance
- The position holder is expected to have a professional working relationship with teaching and non-teaching staff and the school community, displaying a high level of discretionary judgement and respect across a range of situations

The
**School Officer: ITD and Visual Arts** works under the guidance and supervision of the
**Curriculum Leader: Technologies** to contribute to the effective management of the curriculum resources and oversight and maintenance of the ITD & Art workspaces.

**The position holder is expected to**:

- Demonstrate competency in workshop management and machinery maintenance
- Have the ability to stocktake resources, prepare orders and reconcile goods received
- Maintain a clean and tidy workspace
- Understand the need for equipment to be in good repair
- Demonstrate understanding of workplace health and safety in both Visual Arts and ITD and a commitment to working safely

**Under the direct supervision of the Curriculum Leader: Technologies, duties will include, but are not limited to**:

- Preparation of resources and cleaning learning materials
- Using technology to support learning activities
- Administrative duties such as photocopying
- Use and maintain machines and equipment used in the processing of timber, acrylics, ceramics, printmaking etc.
- Ensuring maintenance and servicing of all equipment, tools and machinery
- Maintain appropriate storage requirements for flammables cupboards / dangerous goods
- Assist teachers and students to maintain a safe and clean workshop environment
- Maintain adequate stores of pre-cut and pre-prepared materials and supplies to ensure mínimal disruption to classroom activity

Trade qualifications would be an advantage or suitable experience across a variety of areas.

**To be eligible to be considered for this role you will**:

- hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement;
- be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment; and
- have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education.
