We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Head, Economic Development to lead the implementation of our Economic Development Strategy. As an integral member of our team, you will play a key role in driving economic growth and creating a vibrant business environment within the Randwick community.

**Things you will do**:

- Foster a collaborative business culture that empowers businesses to start, grow, and thrive
- Leverage relevant and timely data to adapt our approach to business support and future planning
- Drive initiatives to attract businesses, professionals, and visitors from across Australia and the world to Randwick
- Initiate actions leading to diverse active places for businesses, including vibrant town and neighbourhood centres
- Create a 24-hour economy by promoting diverse and innovative night-time activities and enhancing the overall night-time experiences within the community
- Continue to build on the City’s profile as a great place to live, work and play through delivery of Place Management Plans and a Destination strategy
- Lead a dedicated team to collaboratively better serve the local business communities to help Randwick’s economy thrive

**We will trust you to bring**:

- Tertiary qualifications or demonstrated experience in economics, business administration, urban planning, or a related field. A postgraduate qualification is desirable
- Proven experience in economic development, business growth, or a related field
- Strong strategic thinking and planning skills, with the ability to translate vision into actionable outcome
- A track record of engaging collaborations and programs with local businesses and networks.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
