We’re on the look-out for a talented SEO Manager to join our Havas Media team.
The Role
The SEO Manager is responsible for leading and driving forward the organic strategy, achieving organic search results and maintaining quality and standards. The SEO Manager will be the lead on a range of clients (between 2 to 5), from enterprise to small/medium clients. Communication, drive, the need to enjoy challenging situations and a systematic approach to problems are integral to the function. Flexibility, variety and pace are also important aspects to the role.
As a senior member of our team, you will be tasked with leading a team of talented people, planning and delivering market leading organic search strategy to some of the most respected and well-known brands in the world.
The successful applicant will work with other specialists, executives and coordinators across Havas to ensure successful delivery of organic search and wider digital marketing products to our clients. Demonstrable experience across SEO technical, content and link building and a good understanding of ecommerce and CX standards are essential, as well as proactivity and autonomy in recommending and producing result generating work. Relationship management and client facing skills are integral as the client lead.
Job Description:
Day to day, your role will involve the following key responsibilities:
Delivery of SEO Strategy for our clients
- High level experience keyword research and content strategy
- Deliver full technical analysis and effective, actionable recommendations
- Evaluate, propose and implement a full spectrum of SEO opportunities
- Effective delivery of link strategy and outreach campaigns as well as competitor insights
- Optimize performance content and on-page recommendations
- Google Analytics & reporting expertise to identify shifts, opportunities and troubleshooting
- Local SEO campaign experience is advantages
- Proactively find and recommend effective SEO solutions for your clients
Strategic
- Deploy testing methodologies on campaigns with the support of the SEO Director
- Have a deep understanding of the wider digital ecosystem and the modern media agency, as well as employing integration strategies (e.g. proactive suggest cross-channel initiatives and bring opportunities to improve our service offering)
- Establish your position as a thought leader, with demonstrable thought leadership including a deep awareness SEO and digital industry trends.
- Participate in new business pitches (SEO specific as well as media pitches), through research, consultancy and specialist recommendations.
General
- Ability to priorities and work under pressure to meet deadlines if required
- Ambitious, but fun and friendly with a ‘work hard play hard’ attitude
- Manage and mentor 1-2 team members, ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality campaigns and their continuing development as professionals.
- Active involvement on major SEO clients and participate in the delivery of the strategy, while supporting team members when leading smaller SEO client
- With the support of the SEO Director, support the career advancement of your team members through a specific KPI plan and ongoing monitoring of their progress.
Relationship building
- Maintain professional internal (inc. the Havas Village) and external working relationships
- Build internal relationships quickly, as working as part of the team is essential

Tools & Skills required for the role:
- PowerPoint - understanding of the Havas Media templates, charting and animation.
- Excel - advanced knowledge of use of Excel including using and creating formulas
- Word - excellent understanding of Word
- SEO Specific tools - Proficiency with Searchmetrics, Ahrefs, Deepcrawl, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Keyword Planner
- CMS Knowledge - WordPress, Shopify, Magento
- Capacity to manage and organise projects within Project management tools
- Team player to ensure that you can build and work across number of internal & external stakeholders harmoniously
- Solid experience in development of SEO strategies, from conception, delivery and measurement for major brands
- 3+ years of experience in digital marketing, specifically in SEO
- Exceptionally strong team management experience
- Demonstrate the ability to present your strategic recommendations to external and internal clients
- High level of competence with Microsoft Office packages
- Effective written communication, presentation, influencing and negotiation skills and problem-solving abilities
