**About the role**

We have an opportunity within our payroll team for an experienced and customer focused payroll professional. The essence of this role is to coordinate the disbursement of Activ’ payroll ensuring 100% compliance with relevant awards, legislation, policies and organisational requirements whilst driving a culture of continuous improvement in alignment with Activ’s values.

This position reports to the People and Culture Service Centre Manager and supports the team with ensuring the integrity of the payroll, monitoring performance of the payroll system (PayGlobal) and review of payroll procedures and processes in order to ensure optimal system functionality.

**A typical day in the role may look like**:

- Providing expert advice and coaching to the payroll team with respect to payroll processes, systems and compliance;
- Coordinating and ensuring the resolution of audit findings requiring action;
- Management of salary packaging programs and superannuation compliance;
- Ensuring the accurate and smooth operation of end-to-end fortnightly payroll functions;
- Identify process improvements and implement these changes using your strong system knowledge;
- Uphold high customer service standards and protocols across the business;
- Develop strong internal and external relationships with key stakeholders;
- Strong client relationship and management skills;
- Minimum 3 years’ proven working knowledge of payroll legislation, relevant awards and agreements;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal);
- Experience with reviewing information and comparing data from different sources;
- Experience with the management and delivery of high-volume complex payroll under an award environment;
- Strong understanding of regulatory and statutory compliance issues relating to payroll functions;
- Proven financial analysis and business reporting skills;
- Working knowledge of PayGlobal is desirable but not essential;
- Qualifications or experience in a relevant industry or field will be looked on favourably.
- National Police Clearance.
