**The Opportunity**
As an integral member of our executive team, you will lead the University’s strategic mission in health alongside overseeing the operation of the College of Health and Medicine. The College excels in advanced practice, medication safety, nursing, dementia research, psychological sciences, allied health, medicine, paramedicine, and preventative health. It plays a crucial role in supporting the healthcare system to deliver accessible, affordable, and future-focused health services, aiming to improve health outcomes for the Tasmanian community and beyond. Providing a distinctive contribution to the island and nation’s health care needs while ensuring that the University’s research agenda is strategically multidisciplinary, sharply prioritised and programmatic will enable us to meet our aspirations for excellence, distinctiveness and impact. Developing and maintaining strong transformative partnerships with key providers both within Tasmania, nationally and internationally, you will develop and foster a supportive team culture with high levels of engagement. Delivering on student-centred teaching quality which is consistently above the national average will significantly contribute towards supporting Tasmania’s health care system and its evolution.
**What’s Required**
With an exemplary history of academic leadership and a Doctoral degree, you will bring to the role a visionary approach to health and the ability to enhance performance within a College/Faculty. As a distinguished people focussed leader with a proven track record in fostering a positive organisational culture will lead to effective strategic planning, budgeting, financial management, and staff development in an academic setting. Exceptional communication skills at all levels are essential, enabling the establishment and maintenance of productive partnerships both within and outside the University, across local, national, and international spheres. A sophisticated grasp of the University of Tasmania’s strategic goals, challenges, and opportunities, particularly in health disciplines, is crucial for driving success in this pivotal role.
