Library Shelvers

We are looking for energetic people to shelve items returned to the Library. The job involves some lifting and repetitive tasks such as removing items from a trolley and shelving in order. Accuracy is paramount, as is a good knowledge of the Dewey Decimal Classification system. Our customers love the positive atmosphere of our Libraries, and it is a great place to work.

**About the role**:
This position is responsible for shelving library items in the correct alphabetical and numerical order.

**Duties include**:

- Shelve items in strict numerical/alphabetical order.
- Check & re-shelve books that are out of order.
- Complete a minimum number of trolleys each shift within advised guidelines.
- Assist with the processing of returned items through the auto sorter, removing items from bins and loading onto trolleys.
- Identify problem items.

**About you**:
To be successful in this role you will have:

- Good knowledge of the Dewey Decimal System
- Ability to shelve items accurately and swiftly
- Proficient in safe manual handling practices
- Reliable, energetic, good organisational skills, enthusiasm for library services, eye for detail
- Working with Children Check
- Available for a minimum of 3 shifts per week (to be considered for permanent part time positions).

**Position details**:

- 5 X Permanent, part-time positions (S1131, S1132, S1133, S1135, S1136), each working minimum 6 hours per week with AM and PM shifts, 7 days a week, with the opportunity to work additional shifts.
- Casual T13500 to be filled based on specific needs as they arise.
- Positions available at Castle Hill Library, Baulkham Hill Library and Vinegar Hill Memorial Library at Rouse Hill, however you may be asked to work at any branch of the Library Service.

**Castle Hill**
Mon 11am-2pm and 4-6pm | Tue to Fri 4-6pm | Sat 10.30am-12.30pm and 2-5pm | Sun 2-5pm
**Baulkham Hills**
Wed-Fri 2-4pm
**Vinegar Hill Memorial Library at Rouse Hill**
Sat 12-3pm | Sun 2-5pm

**Salary**: from $13.02-$22.36 (dependent on how many years out of school) per hour + Superannuation + Performance Bonus (up to 2% of annual salary) + organisational bonus (up to $2K) + Aquatic and Fitness membership discounts.
