**Council Overview**

Strathfield Council (Council) is a medium sized Council located in Sydney’s Inner West. The area of the Council comprises approximately 14 square kilometres and has an estimated population of 46,000 residents, which is growing at 2.5-3% annually. Based on NSW Government projections, the population will increase to over 80,000 by 2036.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Provide advice and recommendations on procurement strategies for ongoing supplies and services to achieve the best outcome for Council.
- Implement, manage, and maintain electronic systems for online tender services and online quote process and associated training and compliance for all users.
- Develop and monitor strategic procurement activities that support the centre led procurement approach through industry / market research and spend analysis and that are in line with policies and legislation.
- Ensure ethical procurement and governance practices are embedded into team culture and business activities, including regular oversight and audits; and
- Maintain a focus on creating collaborative relationships with internal and external customers to achieve mutually agreed business goals and maximise potential opportunities that support efficiencies and savings.

**Required Skills and Experience**
- Tertiary Qualifications in a relevant discipline such as Business, Law, Public Administration, Procurement & Contracting.
- Knowledge of the NSW Local Government Act 2020 and Office of Local Government Tendering Guidelines for NSW Local Government
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in an equivalent or similar position
- Demonstrated understanding of Local Government procurement legislation and policies, or similar.
