**The Teamlead** is responsible for staff and product planning, management and co-ordination of the assigned department (store), in order to meet agreed customer service levels. From time to time the role requires an element of working unsocial hours, including weekend work.

**General Responsibilities / Key Result Areas (KRA’s)**:

- Responsible for the profitability and sales growth of department;
- Ensures relativity between income and expenditure to grow overall departmental profitability on an ongoing basis;
- Develops a business plan for the department with store management;
- Oversees all aspects of “Point of Sale” computer system (staff training, accuracy, till management);
- Vigorously pursue sales budgets (keeping daily sales totals);
- Develops promotions (with support of the advertising and marketing team);
- Train, appraise at least yearly, and develop team to promote maximum productivity and career progression;
- Promote a professional presentation and level of service to customers;
- Plan staffing and manage accurate time keeping and time off;
- Ensure a high standard of stock presentation (merchandising) and security within the department;
- Ensure safe work practices and required health and safety standards are met at all times;
- Regularly brief the team on key communications, including WH&S issues, company-wide announcements shared via the Monthly Managers’ meeting, and highlight important events and activities within the department, store and company;
- Make certain that all plant, substances and work systems used are suitable for their intended purpose prior to use in the workplace and meet safety requirements;
- Provide adequate training, information, instruction and supervision to promote product knowledge and safe work;
- Ensure that new employees, contractors and visitors (sales representatives, etc) are made aware of safety procedures;
- Record and report:

- all accidents and incidents,
- product damage;
- Monitor and maintain:

- stock levels,
- profitable margins,
- personal product knowledge,
- team product knowledge,
- co-operative relationships with other departments, field sales, delivery, and other stores;
- Ensure sales invoices, credit notes, purchase invoices and the like are processed on a timely basis;
- Other related duties, as assigned.

**Technical Expertise / Education Required**:

- Plumbing or steel/concrete experience is essential;
- Hands on experience managing a team to meet customer expectations;
- Strong customer service, communication, and phone skills;
- Demonstrated capabilities coaching, counselling, and motivating people;
- Forklift experience highly desired;
- Relevant qualifications desirable.
