What does the job look like?

The Distribution Centre Manager is required to effectively and efficiently manage the warehouse operation and is required to maintain constant engagement with internal and external stakeholders for the success of the Distribution Centre, Customers and all Employees. The role will take the lead in introducing new business opportunities innovation in processes and equipment within the contract and work to ensure maximum payloads are achieved to deliver acceptable commercial returns. Key areas:

- Develop and lead a high performance safety culture.
- Implement initiatives to ensure cost containment, maximize profit delivery and meet budget and customer service objectives
- Investigate/resolve queries / issues in client service requirements
- Formulation, implementation and monitoring of appropriate KPI’s to maintain the optimal performance
- Develop and lead a customer partnership and high level of customer relationship management
- Deliver the most productive outcomes for Linfox through the effective utilisation of warehouse and transport resources while meeting or exceeding the service expectations of our customer
- Lead, motivate, develop and performance manage operational team members towards best practice

Are you the one?

You are an experienced DC Manager who can demonstrate leadership and execute service excellence in a transport operation across your customer network. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and you have a wealth of experience across commercial, operational, customer and unionised work environments. You can demonstrate:

- Extensive knowledge of warehouse and transport in a large scale operation
- Strong financial and commercial acumen with a great eye for analytics
- Demonstrated experience in developing and leading CI / Lean programs across warehousing and transport.
- Proven experience in developing and maintaining high-performance teams and culture
- Engagement with Key Stakeholders in regard to budget, resource and capital planning and key performance reporting and analysis to ensure an efficient and cost-effective operation
- High level negotiation and communication skills with staff and third parties including unions
- Ability to achieve and drive the financial plans and operational targets
