**About the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission**
The NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission (the NDIS Commission) is an independent

agency established on 1 July 2018 to improve the quality and safety of NDIS supports and

services. The Commission is the dedicated national regulator of NDIS service providers in

Australia and a non-corporate entity under the _Public Governance, Performance and _
- Accountability Act 2013_.

**The NDIS Commission’s core legislative functions are to**:
uphold the rights of, and promote the health, safety and wellbeing of, people with

disability receiving supports or services, including those received under the

National Disability Insurance Scheme;
develop a nationally consistent approach to managing quality and safeguards for

people with disability receiving supports or services, including those received under

the National Disability Insurance Scheme;
promote the provision of advice, information, education and training to NDIS

providers and people with disability;
secure compliance with relevant legislation through effective compliance and

enforcement arrangements, including through the monitoring and investigation

functions conferred on the Commissioner by legislation;
promote continuous improvement amongst NDIS providers and the delivery of

progressively higher standards of supports and services to people with disability;
develop and oversee the broad policy design for a nationally consistent framework

relating to the screening of workers involved in the provision of supports and

services to people with disability;
provide advice or recommendations to the National Disability Insurance Agency

(NDIA) and its Board in relation to the performance of the Agency’s functions;
engage in, promote and coordinate the sharing of information to achieve the

objects of the relevant legislation; and

provide NDIS market oversight, including:
i. by monitoring changes in the NDIS market which may indicate emerging

risk; and

ii. by monitoring and mitigating the risks of unplanned service withdrawal.

**Communications and Engagement**

The Communications and Engagement team drives strategic communication, engagement

and public affairs activities, promoting the role and function of the NDIS Commission

nationally.

Strategic communications is a key enabler for the Commission - connecting our target

audiences to our policies, programs and services. Our external communications seeks to:
develop awareness of the NDIS Commission’s role and responsibilities and activities

build trust with NDIS participants, NDIS providers and the wider community

ensure access to information to support NDIS providers and NDIS workers in
understanding and delivering their obligations, and NDIS participants in
understanding their rights.

**Key duties**

**Digital Channels Data Analyst Officer (APS5)**
A data analyst is a professional responsible for collecting, organizing, and analyzing large

sets of data to help organizations make informed business decisions. The job description of

a data analyst usually includes:
Collecting data from various sources

Removing corrupted data and fixing coding errors and related problems

Developing and maintaining databases, and data systems - reorganizing data in a
readable format

Performing analysis to assess the quality and meaning of data

Filtering data by reviewing reports and performance indicators to identify and
correct code problems

Interpreting complex data, identifying patterns and trends, and creating detailed
reports to inform decision making

Extracting meaningful insights and trends from raw data and presenting them
clearly and concisely

**Key capabilities**:
Demonstrated use of GA4

Demonstrated experience in producing reports and presenting the reports

A passion to learn and evolve with data and channel optimisation

**Essential and desirable requirements**
Relevant qualifications and/or a minimum of 3 years professional experience in

data/stats/analytics
