**About the position**

The La Trobe Rural Health School is the largest rural health school in Australia. LRHS is based at all four regional campuses of the University: Bendigo, Mildura, Shepparton, and Albury-Wodonga.

La Trobe University offers an established suite of Nursing and Midwifery programs delivered through the School of Nursing and Midwifery and the La Trobe Rural Health School on all regional campuses.

The courses include the Bachelor of Nursing, Bachelor of Nursing and Bachelor of Midwifery, Bachelor of Nursing and Bachelor of Psychological Sciences and Postgraduate Diploma of Midwifery and Post Graduate Diploma of Rural Practice. La Trobe University also offers an established suite of postgraduate online study in Mental Health, including Masters of Mental Health, Masters of Mental Health Nursing and Graduate Certificate of Mental Health. Research areas are within the University’s Research Themes, including, Healthy People, Families and Communities, and are supported locally by the Violet Vines Marshman Centre for Rural Health, The John Richards Centre for Rural Ageing Research, The Holsworth Research Initiative and the Holsworth Biomedical Research Initiative.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

- Implement and evaluate innovative methods to deliver nursing related teaching content to develop entry level nurses.
- Contribute to the promotion and student recruitment activities for the suite of nursing courses offered with the LRHS including short courses.

**Skills and Experience**

To be considered for this position, you will have:

- PhD degree/substantial process or equivalent accreditation and standing recognised by the University/profession as appropriate for the relevant discipline areas.
- Demonstrated clinical/industry experience as a practicing Registered Nurse/Dual Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife with current registration.
- Clear understanding of the accreditation requirements and skill capabilities of an entry level registered nurses.
- Passion for rural health and wellbeing and an understanding of rural health care needs.
