Foal Unit Manager

Yulong Stud is seeking a highly motivated individual for the position of Foaling Manager.

Reporting to the Stud Manager, the successful applicant will be in charge of one of our two Foaling Units and be responsible for, but not limited to, the care and management of all pre and post foaling mares and newborn foals for that unit.
- To be successful in this role you will need to have:

- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of the care of broodmares pre and post foaling,
- Demonstrated experience in the foaling process and experience working with problem foalings,
- Experience in the care and management of newborn foals, training and educating young horses,
- Ability to change bandages and maintain progress notes to communicate with treating Veterinarians,
- Ability to administer medications (intravenous and intramuscular injections, oral medications, fluid therapy) to all stock under veterinary care,
- Knowledge of, and experience in, safe operation of all equipment and use of personal protective equipment,
- Ability to manage a small team of staff, including training new staff,
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to work within a team environment
- Ability to liaise with management and fellow workers,
- Demonstrated problem solving skills,
- Demonstrated attention to detail,
- Willingness to work unsocial hours during foaling season,
- Ability to maintain accurate records.

This position will play a pivotal role in the success of this Foaling Unit and the foaling team as a whole. It is expected that you will be a positive and professional reflection of the Yulong brand.

You will be well presented, a clear communicator and have a desire to achieve great results. Previous experience working a busy foaling operation is essential.
