**About the company**
As a privately owned quarry, this operation produces some of the highest quality sand and sandstone product for the construction and civil markets. The organisation is embarking on a growth and transition journey with new plant and infrastructure on its way, they are committed to scaling up its production capacity in 2023.

**About the role**
You will be directly involved with how the operation is managed on a day-to-day basis, taking a proactive part with on-site production delivery and project coordination with a required hands-on approach within the quarry. In addition, you will be a key decision-maker in the leadership group influencing how change needs to occur and driving new initiatives.

**Duties**
- Review current processes and workflow procedures to achieve operational excellence
- Maximise site utilisation to reach volume extraction and targets
- Oversee permanent and contract staff levels
- Maintain a high level of communication between internal and external stakeholders
- Ensure that all site health and safety management systems are compliant and followed
- Prepare written production forecasts and operational expenditures reports for weekly board review

**Skills and Experience**
- Have 5 to 10 years of measured relevant quarry management or leadership experience
- Be an accredited and certified SSE
- Have a sound level of business and financial acumen
- Have sound operational development skills
- Bring a desire to create change, leave a legacy and develop staff
- Have sound verbal and written communication skills
- Be capable of multitasking and delivering work to meet operational deadlines
