**Hours**:Part Time (0.6FTE), Ongoing

**Location**:This position will be based a Nuriootpa with anticipated travel to other country sites such as Gawler.

**About the Role**:
The Peer Practitioner role in the Country Wellness Connections program is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals on their recovery journey. In this role, you'll work closely with clients to help them set and achieve recovery-focused goals, using your own lived experience as a valuable tool. You'll support clients in navigating mental health, AOD, and other health services, while also advocating for their needs and fostering partnerships with key stakeholders.

**Experience Requirements**:

- Demonstrated experience in working with the practice principles of peer work to use own lived experience, and experiential knowledge to share information, skills and strategies that support and promote recovery with clients, families, carers and staff.
- Demonstrated experience and expertise in the provision of support work with people who have Mental health and/or AOD concerns and the provision of psychosocial supports and non-crisis interventions to clients and families/friends.
- Has experienced AOD substance dependence or Mental illness as well as demonstrated successful management and maintenance over an extensive period of time.
- Demonstrated experience working within a fast-paced environment.

**Qualification and Other Requirements**:

- Drivers Licence
- Current or willing to obtain a Working with Children's Check (WWCC)
- Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work or in process of completing same
