As we embark on the next stage of our ambitious growth plan, we are currently recruiting for a Payroll Officer to join our busy payroll team at our head office in Preston.

**About the Role**:
Reporting directly to the Payroll Supervisor, the Payroll Officer will need to ensure all responsibilities are completed and delivered effectively and in a timely manner.

The Payroll officer will be responsible for the preparation and processing of all fortnightly pays in accordance with awards, agreements, company policies and legislation, processing of selected adjustment pay-runs including the calculations of all pay related amendments and allowances, process and balance fortnightly and adjustment pays and finalise in appropriate timeframes.

**Key responsibilities include**:

- To check fortnightly payroll and direct payments reports to ensure accuracy of wages.
- Maintain system data to ensure employee personnel files remain up-to-date
- Ensure appropriate auditing procedures are followed
- Assist with Work Cover administration including preparation of forms and returns and reconciliation of claims and recoveries
- Respond to payroll queries and offer advice to key stakeholders on solutions to improving payroll performance
- Build strong working relationships with payroll team members, key stakeholders and HR
- Remain aware of developments in industry practices and advise management on opportunities to improve payroll processes
- Process payments via On-line banking
- Provide a high level of customer service and support to our employees with any payroll queries
- Conduct, annual, personal and LSL leave audits as per the appropriate instrument and or state legislation Ability to process back pays including Lump Sum E payments and superannuation

- Advanced level of computer skills - Microsoft Excel and Word
- A willingness and appetite for a Payroll career
- The successful applicant will also be required to consent to a National Criminal History Check and return a satisfactory outcome.**Benefits**
