**SEEKING INSPIRING, COMMUNITY MINDED MUSIC DIRECTOR / GROUP SINGING TEACHER**

Are you passionate about the multi-faceted brilliance of music? Do you enjoy witnessing the transformation and uplift that people experience through finding their voice? Do you thrive and feel energised by the moments you create in your musical efforts and teaching? Do you enjoy making a difference to the lives of people through music and singing? If so, we’d love to work with you.

Adult Glee Club is fast becoming one of Australia’s most exciting singing communities. It’s more than a choir. Every week, diverse and inclusive groups of people come together in music to have fun, sing and find their tribe. Not only that, they find their voice. From giving everything at performances, to engaging social outings, specialty workshops, entertaining audiences, hosting special events and developing lifelong friendships, Adult Glee Club is making a difference to the lives of people, one song at a time.

We currently have Glee Clubs in Gordon, Bondi Junction, Marrickville and Stanmore. However the demand to open more Glee Clubs throughout NSW is on the rise and we’d like to expand the number of locations from 2023.

We are putting the callout to invite inspiring, community minded music teachers, educators and/or choir directors to join our music leadership team. Our innate energy, can-do spirit and pursuit of excellence is part of Glee’s DNA. Depending on what area you may reside or work in, there may be opportunities to adopt an existing Glee Club or be assigned a new location/region that is within close proximity of your residency.

We are all about being a team, supporting each other and up-skilling. Your experience in managing and conducting singing groups can range from little to a lot. This will determine the level of training and support you need from us to develop your musical skills and leadership qualities, both creatively and technically. We value your spirit, musicality and the ability and desire to inspire others.

At a fundamental music level, the ideal music leader should:

- Be proficient with reading sheet music and being able to play parts on the piano
- Have experience in singing and teaching harmonies - be it for choirs, bands, vocal ensembles or singing groups
- Be able to play piano to a level that you can accompany the singers and show them their melody lines
- Have great organisational and communication skills
- Have the confidence and conviction to deliver what needs to be taught while being aware of people’s difference in vocal abilities
- Be available to attend and conduct at performances and gigs
- Enjoy being part of a growing community and meeting new people
- Be considerate and encouraging to people who have only discovered singing
- Be easy going and adaptable with a positive outlook
- Values inclusion, diversity, respect and kindness
- Be open minded to new ideas, methods and concepts that can enhance their personal growth as a music leader, and to those they work with
- Love bringing out the full potential of people through singing together
- Love all things singing and music related
- Appreciate popular, well-known music (this could be anything from musicals to rock, soul, pop, golden oldies and current hits)
