Our client, a local Government organisation based in Toowoomba is
**seeking a full-time temporary** Environmental Planner to join their team. This is a temp role until 21 April 2023 with the possibility of extension.

As an Environmental Planner you will be responsible for assisting the Senior Environmental Planning in the formulation, review, and maintenance of environmental strategies, policies, and related supporting documentation that moves the Toowoomba community toward the vision of being a vibrant, inclusive and liveable region where respect for tradition and diversity is embraced:

- In consultation with relevant stakeholders,
- Through the effective implementation and timely delivery of relevant project and programs,
- Ensuring key corporate, departmental and operational objectives are achieved.

**Key responsibilities and duties include**:

- Assist in the development and implementation of strategy and policy that achieves ecological sustainability, with a focus on environmental planning.
- Provide advice on environmental planning related matters to relevant stakeholders.
- Undertake studies in relation to environmental planning matters to support evidence-based decision making.
- Attend various forums and working groups, and prepare appropriate responses in consultation with relevant stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships within the organisation and with external stakeholders to assist in the delivery of high-quality outcomes.
- Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Planning, Environmental Science, or a related field from a recognised University.
- Membership of a relevant professional association, or eligibility for membership.
- Demonstrated time management skills including the ability to set project priorities and establish function / project outcomes to achieve set and agreed departmental goals.
- Excellent level of oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to provide accurate timely advice in a helpful and supportive manner.
- Understanding of environmental planning and/or natural resource management practices, including strategy / policy formulation and review, and project/program development and implementation.
- Knowledge of departmental programs, policies and procedures.
- Developed teamwork skills.
- Possession of a current ‘C’ Class Driver’s license.
