**About the role**

Reporting to the Principal Signals Maintenance and working 5 days on, 2 off, 4 days on, 3 off roster, we are seeking an experienced leader to be part of our Rail Network Maintenance signals team. This role is offered in a FIFO capacity from Perth.

Through the leadership of a team of supervisors, the superintendent is responsible for maintaining and maturing safe operations across planned & breakdown activities, providing shut support to rail maintenance functions, ensuring timely responses to minimise breakdown (UL) events and quality execution standards.

Key duties include but not limited to:

- Leadership of a high performing team, critical to the success of Rail operations
- Coach, mentor and develop reports in leadership & safety interactions
- Manage costs within budget including opex & capex by providing mid & EOM forecasts
- Drive continuous improvement through relevant practices and initiatives within a 90 Day Plan
- Drive a culture of positive change
- Execute foundations team leadership work (recruitment, time and attendance management, performance review, KPI setting, development / succession planning, training and coaching)
- Partake in signal upgrade projects execution
- Provide support to the technician teams through the engagement of the broader support functions & escalate improvements to engineering wherever required
- Drive a reduction in Unscheduled Loss (UL) events
- Engage with relevant stakeholders to ensure scheduled / unscheduled work is completed
- Grow relationships with key partners / vendors
- Manage contractor performance in line with the Contractor Management Framework, scope and terms

**About you**

To be successfully considered for this role, you will be an experienced people leader with ability to build effective relationships with ease and communicate effectively with an adaptive and engaging style.
- A degree / qualification in an Engineering discipline or equivalent work experience
- Experience within a leadership role that required managing a high volume of changing priorities
- Ability to work with and alongside people of all levels of the organisation
- An ability to demonstrate experience with lean and continuous improvement practices
