**About the business**
people2people have partnered with a Queensland State Government department who are looking for an A07 Principal Advisor to join their team.

**About the role**
Reporting to the Business Manager, the purpose of the A07 Principal Advisor is to provide leadership, coordination and specialist expertise to enable the branch to meet its commitments, particularly in relation to major procurement matters. Your responsibilities will include;
- Management of procurement team performance and workload
- Develop and implement strategic procurement planning regime
- Manage complete tender process including management & establishment of contracts, arrangements, standing offer arrangements and consultancy contracts
- Endorse the awarding of contracts and standing offer arrangements
- Develop and prepare briefing papers, reports and correspondence
- Undertake and conduct high value, high risk and/or complex and sensitive procurement projects
- Supervise on oversee maintenance of databases and contract management
- Leadership and people management including management of recruitment, performance, development and team communication
- Other accountabilities and tasks as reasonably directed

**Selection criteria**
To be considered for this role you will have
- Previous experience in a high-level procurement position preferably gained within public sector
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience managing a high performing & functioning procurement advisory team
- Computer literacy
- The ability to lead change in a complex environment while driving accountability and outcomes
