Treatment Plant Operator

**Full Time role located **in the Upper Lachlan Shire, which encompasses Gunning, Taralga, Crookwell, Bigga, Collector

**Attractive salary range** from $1302.73 - $1473.89 per week plus superannuation.

**The position is Grade 11** in accordance with Council's Salary System and the Local Government (State) Award.

**About the role**:
Working under the guidance and direction of the leadership team, the Treatment Plant Operator will be accountable for the operation and monitoring of Council's treatment plants and associated infrastructure in accordance with legislative and regulatory requirements, and carry out both plant and pipeline network maintenance and operational activities in an efficient, effective and safe manner.

**On a typical day our Treatment Plant Operators will**:

- Provide control, operation, monitoring, testing and maintenance of all facets of Council's Treatment Plants
- Ensuring the treatment plant complies EPA licence requirements, at all times.
- Conduct sample collection and perform laboratory testing that complies with NSW Regulatory requirements
- Operate, maintain & adjust chemical dosing & pumping systems
- Operate and maintain dewatering plant

**About You**:

- Certificate III for wastewater treatment or equivalent qualification
- Demonstrated competence and experience in the operation of modern activated sludge Wastewater Treatment Plants including chemical dosing
- Ability to work without close supervision
- Be available for 24 hour "on call" emergency service, on a rotational basis.

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have contemporary experience in the water/wastewater industry. A relevant trade qualification or a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators Certificate or Certificate III in Water Industry Operations (or in the process of obtaining) is essential and recent industry experience would be highly regarded.

You will also display a working knowledge of obligations under the Work Health and Safety Act, hold a class C drivers licence and be available for the out of hours on call roster.
