We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and dedicated teacher with a passion to teach Design Technology (Food), Religion and Humanities to join our great College. As this position requires classroom teaching of Religious Education, applicants must be Catholic. This is a Parental Leave position. The applicant we are seeking should be an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher who is able to demonstrate a commitment to the education of young people, have proven organisation abilities, effective communication skills and be an innovative and creative educator. Applicants will have a familiarity with QCAA Syllabus and have a clear understanding of the Australian Curriculum delivered within a technology rich environment.

**About the role -** As a dynamic and innovative member of our school community, you will:

- Create a nurturing and ordered learning environment which is learner-centred, safe, supportive, co-operative and aligned with relevant curriculum, policies and practices
- Collaborate with your peers to develop and implement quality curriculum programs and appropriate pedagogy
- Assess, provide feedback and report on student learning
- Work with the school leadership team and colleagues to contribute to the professional life of the school Proactively engage with professional learning to enhance student learning outcomes
- Ensure that the teachings and values of the Catholic Church form a foundation for learning and teaching.

**About you -** To be successful in this role you will bring relevant qualifications and contemporary teaching experience as well as:

- Strong literacy, numeracy and digital literacy practices plus a clear understanding of the Australian Curriculum
- Commitment to child safety
- Exemplary communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven organisational skills
- Commitment to engage with colleagues, students, and parents/carers to achieve the best outcomes
- Demonstrated competence against the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers across professional knowledge, practice and engagement.

**At BCE our teachers are required to**:

- Hold a current Queensland College of Teachers registration; and
- Be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.

Do I have to be Catholic?

All BCE teachers must have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education. Our teachers who teach Religious Education are required to be Catholic and attain Accreditation to teach Religion in a Catholic school. If this role does not require you to teach Religious Education, you do not need to be Catholic.
