**The role**
Operating in our brand new office in the heart of Sydney, CBD, the Student Services Officer is responsible for providing guidance to both domestic and international students over a range of areas including information of a social, academic and personal nature with the view of assisting students to acclimatise in a new environment. This position is a key factor in the success of both IH/ihBC and our graduates through the commitment to on-going, individualised student support.
**In this role you will**
- Be available at the front desk, helping the interns, dealing with phone calls and walk ins
- Stimulate interest for our courses and provide detailed course information to new and existing clients, locally and overseas
- Keep internal database up to date with entries of all student details and communications
- Organisation of rolls, certificates and general letters for students
- To provide welfare support and social activities for the students, to help adjust to living in Sydney
- Provide information to students regarding work, accommodation, studying, and living in Sydney
- Interview new students to establish a relationship and determine student needs.
- Counsel students with particular problems, referring them to other agencies, where necessary.
- Organise, promote, budget and supervise events such as excursions.
- Manage the documentation of events with video footage and photographs.
- Keep the staff and management informed of events.
- Provide Orientation to students on their first day
- Provide information to students about their rights and obligations under the ESOS framework and the visa framework, including attendance, course progress, cancelations, student visas, complaints and appeals
**What you'll need to succeed**
- Previous administrative experience in Student Services or the Education industry preferred, but not essential
- Exceptional organisational and administrative skills
- Ability to work autonomously and proactively, with a strong drive for customer service
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
